The Birthday Treat

As it turned out, S didnt selct any gift for him. As much as I expected that it would happen. After a much tiring shopping for 2 hours, I come home to find that there is no power. Still feeling determined to make something spl for him.. I step into the kitchen with the emergency lamp. After 1.5hrs struggling single handed-ly, I prepared these items.
  • Sweet Corn Soup
  • Egg fried rice
  • Chilli Bajji
  • Paal Payasam
I told S not to come anywhere near kitchen specifically. But he kept on asking Ippo Varalama... Apdi ena panra.. (He didnt know it was his star bday). I would shout at him not to come everytime and stop him guessing things. On usual days, he would remain sticked to his laptop work and wouldnt listen even if the sky falls down while I am cooking dinner. But yesterday, He was so restless and that made me so tensed. And no current for the whole time I was cooking. Finally I prepare myself to set the dinner table with food served in the beautiful dinner set (my closest friends' wedding gift to us). I lock S in the bedroom while I struggle to bring in those items with emergency lamp in a hand and food in the other. I open the door to the "Emergency Lamp Dinner" and watdoyouknow?!?!? S is surprised to the core. I wish him Happy Birthday.. and he has no clue.:) I assure him that its his star bday and we are all set to eat. Just then, he gets a call and makes me so restless. He asks ample number of sorry's later.. :) (ha ha.. made him feel guilty for attending that call). While I was sweating like a pig, wondering how to have the dinner with the most unromantic emergency lamp, power comes back! :) On that good note, few pics... Really loved the food in the dinner set which made it special for us :)
